In the beginning there is always a vision, an idea and fortuities or let's call it dispensation ...
China has got the idea to found a Charity Association: "Deutsche Förderverein Hilfe für ehemalige Kindersoldaten und afrikanische Kriegsofpfer e.V." (German Charity Aid for former child-soldiers and African victims of war e.V.)

2004

The Charity Association is founded in Berlin ...
and recognized as non-profit organisation. Only a society does't benefit anything, but China goes on a lecture tour with her book: "Child Soldier: Fighting for my Life" (German."Sie nahmen mir die Mutter und gaben mir ein Gewehr"), to call attention to the problem of child-soldiers and for the first time she advertizes for the Society and her own idea; to erect a home for 15 former child soldiers/orphans in Rwanda. Accidentally, at one of her lectures, she meets the International Catholic Mission "Missio München". China gets Ambassador of Missios "Aktion Volltreffer" ("Campaign bull's eye") - No war with children". 

2005

The idea of the home in Kigali...

gets concretized,  In March an official project application is submitted to Missio Munich. The result of the first project meeting is, that Missio is prepared to take stand as project supporter, provided that the Archbishop of Rwanda agrees to the project and an religious order on the spot will be found, to guide the home.
July: The first tangible offer and sketches of a local building company are present. On the occasion of a visit to rwanda, China presented the project to the Archbishop, who signalized a positive verification.

The Charity Association reinforced strives for new sustaining members.
On the occasion of an UNICEF Benefit-Golf-Tournament China accidentally becomes acquainted with the executive director of "Galileo Industries GmbH", who also is interested to support the project "children's home". Der Förderverein bemüht sich verstärkt um Fördermitglieder. Anlässlich eines UNICEF Benefiz-Golf Turniers lernt China zufällig den Geschäftführer von "Galileo Industries GmbH" kennen, der ebenfalls an einer Unterstützung des Projektes "Kinderheim" interessiert ist.

May 2006

In May, the Management Board and the executive staff of "EWE Aktiengesellschaft" were impressed of the project-idea in such a way, that a Board of Directors Resolution was made, to support the project with a private donation of each individual. One considers to equip the children's home in Rwanda with a Solar Power System as a pilot project and at least they want to help with words and deeds. Thank you!
